NSW Age Development Squad swimmer Tarah Ogilvie is the third monthly winner in the 2017-18 TWT Club Six/Ryde Sports Foundation Sports Star of the Year Award.

Versatile Tarah performed with distinction at the Australian Age Swimming Championships by reaching a multitude of finals.

Tara received her $300 Sports Star of the Month award on Friday 11 August 2017  at North Ryde Golf Club at 6:00 pm.

TARAH OGILVIE is a home-spun product of Ryde Carlile Swimming Club with an impressive honours list at State and National Carnivals.

Fourteen year old Tarah left her mark at the Australian Age Championships when she qualified for the finals of the 15yrs Girls 200m and 400m freestyle events and as a member of the 13-18yrs 4 x 200m freestyle relay; 13-16yrs 4 x 100m freestyle relay and 13-16 yrs 4 x100m medley relay.

Those strong performances earned her selection in the NSW Age Development Squad.

Earlier she was named Metro North West Short Course 14yrs Girls Age champion and at the NSW State Age long course championships, Tarah clinched silver medals in the 15yrs 200m freestyle; 13-18yrs 4 x 200m freestyle relay and a bronze in the 13-16yrs 4 x 100m freestyle relay.

She underlined her versatility by reaching the final of the 100m, 400m and 800m freestyle; 100m butterfly and 200m individual medley events.

The Riverside Girls High student was crowned Sydney North regional age champion—winning gold medals in the 15–16yrs 200m and 400m freestyle events; silver in the 16ys 50m and 100m freestyle and 100m butterfly plus bronze in the 15–16yrs 200m individual medley and 100m breaststroke.

She later claimed gold in the 50m and 200m freestyle at the NSW Combined High School titles as well as silver in the 100m and 400m freestyle.

At the NSW All Schools Carnival, Tarah won the 15–16yrs 200m freestyle event and bronze in the 400m freestyle to earn selection in the NSW Swimming team for this year’s Pacific School Games to be staged in Adelaide during December.
