The Ryde Athletics Club member was nominated as a finalist in the Athletics NSW Masters Athlete of the Year award in May 2025, won 11 national titles at the 2024 Australian Masters Winter Championships in October 2024, represented Australia at the 2024 Pan Pacific Masters Games in November 2024, setting newPan Pacs records for his age group in discus, shot put, hammer and weight and broke the record for javelin, winning five gold and a bronze. At the Australian Masters Championships in April 2025, it was gold for Gavin in the hammer and weight throw, silver in the throws pentathlon, bronze in the shot put and discus. In NSW, Gavin holds 18 outdoor Masters throws records and five NSW Indoor Masters records.
